In Fall 2023, I decided to make a few samples of a coat I had been toying with in my mind for a wee while. I wanted them to be exceptionally luxurious, a reflection of my style and sense of fun, but as always, with a huge amount of attention given to the details.
These were such a storm! Everytime I wore them out people would stop me and ask for the details to purchase. Being bright candy colors, with neat features like pockets and my artistic lining, they were a hit!
Two weeks before NYFW ‘24 I was asked whether I would like to present my fur and cashmere in a debut runway show with the fabulous Flying Solo in SoHo. It was an incredible opportunity that I could not miss; a dream I have had since the age my daughters are now. SoOoo out came the sewing machine, and to the paper for sketches. I hope you feel invigorated, inspired and uplifted by the collections I present to you.
I arrived in New York in Sept 2022, like many other immigrants before me with one suitcase, $5K US, some big ass dreams and two wide eyed little daughters staring up at me for support and guidance. In a new culture, in some ways similar to New Zealand, and in others very different, it has been an incredible journey to bring my dreams to life in my favorite city in the world. It has been a very emotional experience to watch my designs walk the runway; to witness the joy and pride in my daughter’e eyes, the same age now as I was when I started seeing the possibilities the world had for me.
I am humbled by the help and support I have recieved from the Flying Solo family and the community at large. It is with these other wonderful souls helping me out that the magic happens, from the fabric stores, to the parking attendants, the positivity has been uplifting and boyant. It takes so many hands to help artists create and do what we love. To you all THANK YOU!!!

I hope you enjoy the custom lining I designed and illustrated. It is a lovely heavy weight silk polyester.
I have a background in textile & fashion design so am quite particular about the quality and drape of the yardage. I’m also finshnikity about the quality and rendering of digitally printed fabric. I am thrilled with my custom lining, the design, the colors and the rendering is sharp and pops. I love the way the colors within the lining pattern are highlighted by the different colors of the furs.
Most of all, I hope wearing a Moena Moxham garment makes one feel invigorated! Whether popping out for a coffee, or going to the theater, life is meant to be fun!! Smack on your sparkles, glam up your gear, and wear sunshine in Winter!
